And so to summarise this section on the Martin Firebrace designs, above the Ericca, a brand new design, very quick in light weather and so far looking good as a top all round performer. I think I need to get one myself! But, as I have said, not yet in production.

The 3Dogs, has it been left behind in the design stakes or is it just waiting for a very talented sailor to take it to the top?

Good study of the progression of the 2Dogs into the 3Dogs, more powerful sections aft. Also interesting to note, Geoff Smale one of the very best sailors in the world today in R/C yachting, second in the world champs 1997, and second in the NZ champs 1999 is still successfully using a self-modified version of the Firebrace 2Dogs!

All of Martin's boats are built in Auckland with loving care and craftsman like skill by Carl Weatherill. Even though all these boats are built in a mould they are hand finished with great care and attention to detail, Carl also makes keel fins and rudders out of carbon fiber to a very high standard.
